I get asked the same question all the time; Can women in their 40s, 50s, or even 60’s wear lingerie and can they pull it off? The answer is simple…YES they most certainly can! I don’t know if ya’ll know it but I am 49 and I love wearing lingerie. You need not be young to be provocative. So, how do you know if he is falling for you? You don’t it just happens…and when it does you’ll know and he will not be afraid to tell you how he has felt after all this time. Love is a happy experience, but love doesn’t come about over night. It takes time and it grows. Physical appearance is paramount to many men, but certainly not at all the ‘make or break a deal’ kind of thing….however… that first kind of attraction you have together tells a lot about if you have what it takes to create something solid. Men are truthfully infatuated by women and if they want to get to know more about her, they will begin their pursuit. Want my non-professional advice? Yes we all know that if you ask any woman if a man is sexier with a six pack she will say YES…but what is it that makes men want to have smokin’ hot six packs? Some men work out for the health benefits, for pleasure, and to generally stay in shape. This is reasonable and desirable. Every man should want to be fit and healthy, nevertheless, some men develop an unhealthy obsession with getting a ripped physique and begin using drugs such as steroids which are not hot and not so cool at all.

Why do men want to have these super hero style bodies and how far will they go to get them? Listen, confidence for men is just as important as it is for us ladies. We look in the mirror and see a not so tight ass any longer or saggy hooters as we age and we look at a variety of ways to make necessary changes to benefit our bodies. The sad thing is that while exercise and a few changes in our diets will most likely assist with many of the changes, some women don’t have the time to redefine their bodies and go straight to a plastic surgeon to see what it will cost to make her look sexy, tone and most importantly younger again. Guess what folks, we are aging and getting older does NOT mean getting ugly or saggy. I’m 49 and I feel great. I’ve gained and I’ve lost weight but men see us as sexy in a variety of ways just as we see them sexy and it does not mean that we have to spend thousands of bucks to make it happen.

We want our bodies to look great and we seem to gravitate to men with buff bods too. So while there’s really no denying the fact that women view a man’s ripped physique as a sweet bonus, it’s rarely, if ever, a deal breaker. The women I have known in my life, much including myself have been far more focused on a man’s personality, sense of humor, decency, confidence, and ambition, than whether he had six packs abs.Why is there such a disconnect between what women want and what men think they want?

Getting a six pack fast isn’t just about doing abdominal exercises. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication. So think long and hard before you get started toning. We all know that ab-toning exercises are, of course, vital to getting that six pack you’re craving. But all the sit ups and crunches in the world won’t give you a six pack if you’ve got a bulgy belly. That’s because body fat hides muscle tone; burning belly fat can reveal how toned your abs are. Burn body fat with regular aerobic activity. Running, swimming, jogging and cycling are all good ways to burn belly fat.

How does one obtain a six pack? Eat the right foods, watch your intake of carbs and fats. Eating a low fat diet can help you burn body fat to reveal the muscle tone in your abs. For better muscle tone, eat plenty of protein, which helps your body build new muscle tissue.Your body needs fat and carbohydrates for energy. The more fat you cut out of your diet, the more carbohydrates you should consume. Avoid simple carbohydrates, like sugar. Your body converts these to fat, and eating too many of them can lead to type 2 diabetes. The best thing to do is to eat plenty of complex carbohydrates, like whole grain breads and pasta, to give your body energy.

Make sure you get an adequate number of daily calories from healthy foods. Of course, you can’t get a six pack fast, or at all, if you don’t do abdominal toning exercises. Perform a crunch by lying on the floor, with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. It’s easy, and you don’t need a lot of expensive gym equipment at home ton get a rock solid sexy set of six packs.

Of course another reason men are increasingly making a ripped physique their goal, are the images constantly being pushed by the media. Batman was just Batman until the beefed him up and built abs in his bat suit. Really? Was this necessary? You bet it was…today’s society wants to see buff men and buff men sell box office hits. Back in the day,…the Duke (Mr John Wayne) didn’t have a six pack… he was just a cowboy hero with a hot holster set and smile that made women melt. With no six pack do you think that stop him beating the bad guy and getting the girl? No way!

What do I like? For me, it’s the package. Get your mind out of the gutter,…NO not that package. It’s how it all fits together into the overall picture. Each man has his own wonderful package of features. Smile, arms and shoulders, eyes and hair, and especially his smile. For some women it is also his legs, hands and chin. I prefer a man with character and a brain. A romantic man, not a horn dog. A man who considers others feelings and loves with his head and his heart. Sure looks are important as we all know that the physical attraction is a key ingredient in finding the mate for you…BUT don’t lose sight of the other qualities that a man portraits that makes him special too.

Sure that sexy six pack is intriguing and impressive, nonetheless, you need to look at what makes the man as a whole, not just what makes his six pack abs. Men, just like women care about their bodies and want to look and feel like a million bucks. This can be obtained in a healthy manner. Crows Feet and How to Get Rid of Them?

For many men and women, we worry about aging. We dislike being told that we are growing older, and we certainly don’t need constant reminders every time we look into the mirror to see the lines of age on our skin. So many of us contemplate cosmetic surgeries but do they really work? What are the costs, what are the various procedures and what are the pro’s and con’s of these procedures. We don’t just look for ways to look and feel younger and more sexy in lingerie, we want to feel confident and beautiful from the inside out. 

So what are crows feet exactly? Crows feet, also referred to as “smile lines,” “laugh lines,” and “character lines,” are a natural part of the aging process. We all get them…we don’t like them, but sooner or later we get them. In fact, nearly anyone over the age of 25 will start to show these tiny little v-shaped lines or wrinkles in the corners of their eyes. To help slow down the process of crow’s feet development in the first place, it is best to be a nonsmoker and to avoid exposure to the sun. In addition, it is a good idea to use an eye cream around the eyes every day. The cream used should include glycolic acid, which helps encourage the skin to get rid of old skin cells in order to allow new ones to take their place.

Botulinum Toxin Injections

If it is too late for you and you are already starting to show crow’s feet around your eyes, there are many different treatments available for getting rid of those pesky little lines. Is this something that you would like to make you feel better about yourself or younger? If so, there are a variety of methods to assist you in your needs. One popular method is botulinum toxin injections, commonly referred to as Botox. Botox injections temporarily paralyze and relax the muscles located around the eyes, which prevents the skin from wrinkling. Collagen Injections

Do you know about these and what they do? Collagen injections are also available. These injections serve to replace the collagen that has been lost during the aging process. After the procedure, the face often looks puffy or swollen for a few days because several deposits of collagen are placed under and in the skin. This allows the collagen to be absorbed by the skin. Chemical Peels

The name sounds so soft and natural, but listen to what it entails; Another option for getting rid of crow’s feet is the chemical peel. With a chemical peel, an acidic chemical is applied to the entire face. This burns away the top layer of skin and encourages newer, fresher, more elastic skin to form in its place. The exact amounts of chemicals used in a chemical peel can vary depending on the needs of the patient, but the chemicals generally used include trichloracetic acid (TCA), phenol, and alphahydrocy acids (AHA’s).

The lightest form of chemical peel uses strictly alphahydroxy acids, such as fruit acids, lactic acids, and glycolic acids. These peels can produce brighter colored skin and make the skin smoother. This type of peel is best for use with fine crow’s feet. The peel may be applied weekly for a while in order to gain results. The plus to a chemical peel using alphahydrocy acids is that there is no recovery time necessary.

For a deeper chemical peel, trichloracetic acid can also be used to eliminate fine wrinkles. As with glycolic acids, it may be necessary to have more than one peel to achieve the desired results. This peel requires a little more recovery time than an alphahydroxy acid peel, which means the skin may need to be protected from the sun for a few months afterwards. The strongest chemical peel involves phenol. This deep peel helps eliminate deep crow’s feet. This type of peel is used primarily for the face, as the neck or body may scar from its use. On the down side, a phenol peel often permanently damages the skin’s pigment. As a result, it is necessary to always protect the skin from the sun to prevent damage. You’ll need to decide if this method is the right method for you?

Microdermabrasion, Dermabrasion, and Laser Resurfacing

Other methods for getting rid of crow’s feet involve removing the top layer of the skin with microdermabrasion, dermabrasion, or laser resurfacing. These techniques each utilize special techniques to remove the top layer of skin. With microdermabrasion, coronum or Aluminum Oxide crystals are blown onto the skin with a steady air stream in order to exfoliate it. Dermabrasion scrapes off old cells with a wire brush and laser resurfacing uses a laser to peel away the top layer. All of these methods allow new skin that has not been damaged to grow.

2. Halve at it. Divide your normal portion by two and save the rest for later. I do this…it’s not cutting out food, it’s making it stretch further. Spread the meals out a little and eat smaller portions. You are likely to feel full on less food than you think.

3. Go meatless.  In general, vegetarians have lower body weights than their meat-eating peers. Follow their lead…at least until you drop a few pounds.For some this may be very difficult but for others not a problemo! If you started reading labels and learning what went into the products that you ingest, you might change your tune about what you put in your mouth. 

4. Go vegan. Not everyone can do it and it does take changing your entire diet and way of life….but you may want to give it a try if nothing else is working and you feel like the weight just isn’t dropping off like it should be. Remember, this doesn’t work for everyone…Vegetarianism not helping you lose? Take it to the next level by swearing off eggs and dairy too. Cheese can be a diet killer. We all love it, but it’s packing on the cottage cheese in your thighs and your ass and it’s getting to be bikini time and no one wants dimples all over her derriere.

5. Get fresh. Eliminate all packaged foods and eat only fresh ingredients you’ve prepared. No bags, boxes, cans, or cartons allowed.

6. Diet 2 days a week. If you can’t stick to a program all the time, try slashing your calories to 650 a day just 2 days a week and eating normally the other days. A recent study suggests this offers protection from breast cancer as well as assistance with weight loss.

 7. Not so sweet. Everyone knows sugar isn’t healthy, but again, I am repeating myself on this but; when you start reading labels, you find it in unexpected places, like pasta sauce and frozen entrees. Cutting the sugar out of your diet will mean healthier meals overall. Some food sale lower calories, but look at the sodium. That is a killer for dieters! Got to keep the sodium levels down or your bloat out like a fish.

8. Cut the flour. The short-term elimination of floury foods like white bread and pastries can efficiently kick-start your weight loss plan.

9. Be virgin. For some this is not a concern, to others, it may be difficult and if it is, dieting s not your only concern here my friend. Alcoholic beverages are some of the emptiest calories out there. Replace them with water, and the weight comes off like wha-la!

10. Walk 2 minutes out of every 30. Short walking breaks add up to weight loss. Learn how to work your body and you’ll see improvements without having to even really try dieting.

 

Start out slowly…Just take what you have and cut it in half. Exercise a little and stop boozin it so you can start losin it! If all else fails, do remember that sex burns calories too! Single Women and WHY We Won’t Settle…

Are you middle aged and single? Are you thinking that your biological clock is ticking away and it is time to settle down? Some women fear being alone. Some women need to be taken care of. Years ago after my divorce I thought that being single was going to be oodles of fun! WRONG. Things are not the same, men are not the same, and times certainly have changed. My grandmother always used to tell me to never settle. Of course I am still that hopeless romantic that things that someday, her knight and shining armor will arrive on his horse, or in his Porsche and wisk me away. A gal can hope can’t she?  She said that if I wanted to get respect I first had to have much respect for myself, and I do. Her relationship advice; she said that somewhere out there was a man out that would care for me, appreciate me and love me,…for ME, faults, bad habits and all! She also said that no woman should ever put herself or her feelings on the back burner for any man. I think when we are married or in serious relationships, we as women do tend to do this. I did. After my divorce, I never did this again. This time around it was all about me. Does this sound a little familiar? Did you give, and give and give? Some women develop very low self-esteem from divorce and bad relationships. Hang in their gals. 

Don’t you think you deserve happiness like everyone else? We all try to do the right thing and yet we question what it is that we do wrong in relationships? Oh please… there are so many things that we can or can’t do right in a relationship that it would take this blog and a few more books to list the goofy things that we do to muck things up…The secret to not settling is being clear on what you want and not being afraid to demand it. Some men are very intimidated by this. Why? This means that they are not in control, and that scares some men. 

If you don’t know what you want in a man or from a relationship, than you shouldn’t get involved with someone- PERIOD! No reason to bring someone else down if you are trying to get your act together. You wouldn’t want someone to do this to do, so don’t do it to them. Don’t try to figure it out as you go along because you will only end up hurt and confused. Even if you know what you want, what good is it if you don’t demand the respect to receive it? If you say you want to be loved and to be number one in somebody’s life, why are you sitting around waiting for a man to leave his “situation”? That doesn’t make sense right? Think about it – why settle for good when you can have great? Time for some girl talk; listen up ladies,…stop settling! My grandmother also told me to never make a man my priority if he only saw me as an option. When you date, you see this a lot.

The alternative to settling, of course, is going on more dates where you’ll have to laugh at not-so-funny jokes and rehash (over and over and over again why you are single) … Yes, you’ll have to go into why you’re still on the market as if it wasn’t already difficult enough to talk about. Some women are still on the market because they don’t want to get burned, or they are gun-shy to relationships. Perhaps they went through a bad break up or a messy divorce that dragged on and on and on?

No one has to be with someone. Some choose to do it for all the wrong reasons. The alternative is being single. So do you settle? It’s not bad, and some women actually do settle…nonetheless, it’s just, that you know that deep down you could do sooo much better, don’t you? There you have it ladies– you can settle for a so-so relationship, you can go on countless dates, or you can be single. There’s no other choice. Most women that I know of who are middle-aged and single tell me that they like dating but they don’t know if they would ever tackle marriage again. Settling down and settling are two different things here. 

 

We stay single for careers, and for ourselves…some of us are a bit selfish, and we have every right to be. No matter how accomplished a woman becomes, or no matter how many lives she saves, at the end of the day, a woman is more likely to judge her success in life based on two things: her weight and her love life.
